Losses among the civilian population in Ukraine as of 8:00 on March 26

As of 8:00 a.m. on March 26, 2022, 335 civilians were killed in the Russian invasion in the past 24 hours, including 300 residents of Mariupol and, according to incomplete information, two children (without excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Kyiv, Kherson, Chernihiv regions).  90 were injured, including 8 children. More than 20 civilians were captured, and in total more than 50 civilians were abducted or taken prisoner, mostly local government officials of Russian-occupied cities and Ukrainian activists.

SAVE Mariupol. Russian troops continue to keep Mariupol under complete blockade. On March 25, the City Council announced that airstrikes on the Drama Theater, which absconded women, children and the elderly, had killed about 300 civilians, according to preliminary reports. On March 16, Russian aircraft dropped bombs on the theater building, in front of which “CHILDREN” was written in huge letters on both sides.  However, this warning did not stop the Russian military… Children and pregnant women who survived the shelling of a maternity hospital and children’s hospital on March 9 were transferred to the Drama Theater building.  According to eyewitnesses of the tragedy, this time the mothers and a baby died… UN representatives testify to the large number of mass graves in Mariupol.  According to them, about 200 civilians are buried in one of the mass graves. No humanitarian aid has reached Mariupol since its blockade by the Russian army.

Children:

As of March 26, 135 children were killed and 184 wounded in Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine’s population, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

20 civilians were detained and taken prisoner, mostly heads of local authorities of the settlements occupied by Russian troops:

 1. In Snovsk (Chernihiv region), the Russian military abducted the head of the territorial community, Alexander Medvedev.

 2. In Snovsk (Chernihiv region) the Russian military kidnapped businessman Hryhorii Bozhko.

 3. In the Kherson region, the head of the Territorial Community of Nyzhnosirohozk, D. Takadzhy, was abducted.

 4. In the Sumy region, a local resident (hunter) was abducted and deported to Russia by the Russian military.

 5. In the village of Motyzhyn, Kyiv region, the Russian military abducted the head of the village, Olha Sukhenko, her husband and son.

 6. In the Chernihiv region, 2 local government employees and 11 ordinary local residents were abducted.

The day before he was taken prisoner (information to be specified):

 • Dmytro Afanasiev, a local council deputy, was abducted in Kherson. His friends were also abducted.  They are all in captivity. Russian military brutally tortures Dmytro and his friends. Relatives turn to the public for help, to save.

 • Igor Prusaiev is captured by the Russian military in Kakhovka.

 • In the Kherson region, the mayor of Beryslav – Oleksandr Shapoval. He was abducted by the Russian military along with a local activist (name unknown).

 • In the Chernihiv region by the Russian military, the village head Mykola Budalovskyi, deputy and school principal Tetiana Bezliudna.

 • Mykola Sykalenko, the head of the Tsyrkunivka village council, was abducted in the Kharkiv region.

 • Secretary of the City Council of Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region) Dmytro Vasyliev.

 • Mayor of Dniprorudne Yevhen Matvieiev;

 • Chairman of the Melitopol District Council Serhiy Pryima;

 • Head of the Ivankiv District Administration Tetiana Svyrydenko;

 • Secretary of the Skadovsk City Council Yurii Paliukh;

 • rescuer of the SES Oleksii Danchenko;

 • volunteer – paramedic Yuliia Paievska;

 • In the Kherson region, the Russian military abducted the head of the village of Stara Zbur’ivka – Viktor Myroniuk

 • Olena Plaksina, a local council deputy, was taken prisoner in Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region.

 • In the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian military captured the head of the Pryazov local council, Andrii Solopov, and earlier Dmytro Bodiu and Serhii Pryima were abducted.

 • Oleksandr Ponomarov, a People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the “Opposition Platform for Life Party”, was taken prisoner in Berdiansk (Zaporizhzhia region), which is temporarily occupied by Russian troops.

Losses of civilians in different regions and cities of Ukraine:

Kyiv region: 2 people died.

Shevchenkovo ​​(Kyiv region) – the Russian military shot dead 2 civilians (a man and a woman).

Donetsk region: 4 civilians killed, 11 wounded. According to the National Police in Donetsk, 2 children were killed and 3 were injured.

Mariupol – 1 person was killed and 3 were injured because of air strikes.  Well-known teacher of journalism Lilia Humianova also died.

Avdiivka – as a result of shelling by volley fire systems “Hail” 2 people were injured, including 1 child.

Maksymylianivka – 1 child died from shelling, 3 civilians were injured.

Mar’inka – 1 person was injured in the shelling.

Luhansk region: according to the official information of the Luhansk regional military-civil administration, 3 people died; 7 – wounded.

Rubizhne and Shchedryshcheve – 3 people were killed and 7 were injured.

Mykolaiv region:

Yavkyne (Bashtanskyi district) – as a result of shelling by Russian troops of the “Smerch” rocket-propelled grenade launcher of residential private houses, 2 civilians were killed and 13 were injured.  In other areas of the Mykolaiv area bordering the Kherson area 46 inhabitants, among them 5 children are wounded.

Sumy region: 5 people died and 7 were injured.

Okhtyrka – 1 person died as a result of air rocket attacks.

Konotop district – 2 people died as a result of shelling, 2 more were injured.

Velykyi Sambir – the Russian military fired on civilians with small arms, 2 civilians were killed.

Syrovatka and Nyzy – 5 civilians were injured in the shelling of the farm.

Kharkiv region: 6 civilians were injured.  According to official data from the National Police of Kharkiv region, 17 people died.

Kharkiv – Four people were killed and three were injured in a shelling by Russian systems at a district hospital, where humanitarian aid was usually distributed to local residents.

Derhachi – 1 civilian was killed and 3 were injured in an air strike.

Chernihiv region: 1 person died.

Chernihiv – an elderly woman died in the shelling of her house.
