Losses among the civilian population in Ukraine as of 8:00 on April 6

Due to the active fighting local authorities don’t have a full data or sometimes any information on the number of casualties. There is actually no mobile connections and electricity in the conflict zone. Therefore, the data for April 5 on the number of dead and wounded are extremely incomplete. In particular, there is just some or no information about victims in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Mariupol and Volnovakha.

It is impossible to get information about the situation in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, which are occupied by the Russian troops.

In the settlements of Kyiv region liberated from the Russian occupiers (Hostomel, Borodianka, Bucha, Nemishayevo, Vorzel, Irpin, Makariv, etc.), as well as in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, mass victims of civilians are being searched for and identified. Preliminary data is not yet available, except the information about 410 deaths in Bucha and 400 went missing in Borodianka.

As of 8:00 a.m. on April 6, 2022, during the last 24 hours, 9 civilians had been killed due to the Russian invasion, among them 1 child (excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions). 24 people were injured, including 9 children. 1 civilian were captured, and totally more than 100 civilians were kidnapped by the Russian troops, they are mostly journalists, local government officials of the occupied settlements, the Ukrainian activists and teachers as well. Just in the Kherson region approximately 100 residents disappeared.

Children:

As of March 5, due to the Russian full-scale invasion against the population of Ukraine, 165 children were killed and 266 were wounded, according to the data of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.   

One civilian was captured by the Russian troops in the occupied settlements:

 1. In Vovchansk (Kharkiv region) the Russian military kidnapped Anatoly Stepanets – a mayor of the town. Stepanets refused to collaborate with the Russian occupiers.

Losses of civilians in different regions and settlements of Ukraine:

Kyiv region: Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Borodianka, Motyzhyn, Makariv, Nemishayevo, Vorzel, Dymerka. According to preliminary information, 400 people went missing in Hostomel. 410 corpses of brutally tortured and killed civilians have been taken for identification. Two civilians were killed, including 1 child.

Hostomel (Kyiv region) – 400 residents of the town went missing.

Hoholiv (Kyiv region) – a man exploded, opening the trunk of his own car, which was previously mined by the Russian occupiers. In the liberated territories, the Russian military mined the corpses of people, cars, houses and roads.

Vyshhorod district (Kyiv region) – Russian military killed a 4-year-old child.

Donetsk region: 8 civilians were wounded.

Maryinka – 4 civilians were injured.

Mariupol – 1 person is injured.

New York – 1 person was injured.

Bakhmut – 1 civilian was injured.

Vuhledar – 1 person was injured.

Zaporizhzhia region: 3 children were injured.

2 children were injured. The Russian military shot the girl’s face (11 years old). The boy (2 years old) was injured while he was driving with his parents trying to leave Mariupol. A 15-year-old girl was injured in the shelling in Polohy village.

Luhansk region: 1 person was killed and 5 civilians were injured.

Rubizhne (Luhansk region) – 1 civilian was killed and 5 were injured.

Mykolaiv region: 2 civilians were killed; 4 children were injured.

Mykolaiv – due to the Russian army cluster missiles strikes the number of killed people has increased from 10 to 12 people. Also there are reports of 4 injuried children.

Chernihiv region: 4 people died, 4 were injured, including 2 children.

Chernihiv – 2 people were killed and 2 were injured in the shelling of a private house.

Pryluky district (Chernihiv region) – a civilian car in which the family was driving, exploded on a mine. Parents were killed and children were injured.
