As of 8:00 a.m. on April 3, 2022, during on April 1 and April 2, 374 civilians had been killed due to the Russian invasion, among them 1 child, including the preliminary official data about 280 victims in Bucha (Kyiv region), (excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions). 59 people were injured, including 5 children. 9 civilians were captured, and totally more than 100 civilians were kidnapped by the Russian troops, they are mostly journalists, local government officials of the occupied settlements and the Ukrainian activists, teachers as well.
The terrible consequences of the Russian occupation of part of the Kyiv region after its liberation by the Ukrainian army were revealed. In all the liberated settlements, hundreds of killed people of all ages and genders lie under the sky at the streets. Most of them were shot in the back of the head. Some of them have signs of torture and rape, even children… Just in Bucha, 280 civilians were buried in a mass grave on the first day of liberation.
Children:
As of April 2, due to the Russian full-scale invasion against the population of Ukraine, 158 children were killed and 254 were wounded, according to the data of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Detained and taken prisoner by the Russian troops:
1. In Novoslobidska territorial community (Sumy region) the Russian military kidnapped a deputy of the community’s head– Olexiy Shibaev. He was captured when he was assisting the humanitarian aid to affected people.
2. In Tavriysk (Kherson region) – the Russian military kidnapped the head of the town – Mykola Rizak.
3. In Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region) – the Russian military captured 4 schools’ directors – Anzhelina Kovalenko (№ 4), Olena Halatsan (№ 13), Lyudmyla Chuhay (№ 9), Marharyta Ovsiannikova (№ 11). The directors refused from the implementing of the Russian educational programs in Melitopol.
4. In Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region) – the Russian military captured local businessman Oleg Rudenko, who had an active Ukrainian position. He helped refugees from Mariupol, provided humanitarian aid to the residents of Melitopol.
5. In the Sumy region near Shostka, the Russian military captured a family traveling in their own car. Their fate is currently unknown.
6. In Kakhovka (Kherson region) the Russian military kidnapped the member of the Kherson regional council – Sergey Drozdyk.
SAVE Mariupol
According to Mariupol Deputy Mayor Serhiy Orlov, the most difficult problem is helping the city’s exhausted residents. The main problem is food. So far, the Russian military does not allow any humanitarian aid to be brought into the city. Local authorities hoped that on April 1, the International Committee of the Red Cross would bring humanitarian aid. However, the Group of the International Committee of the Red Cross has not been able to get to Mariupol and is under siege by the Russian military. The ICRC’s mission had to evacuate civilians and bring them in the most necessary assistance. Currently, the surviving residents of Mariupol stay in basements and bomb shelters due to constant air and artillery shelling. There is a real starvation in the city. “People eat three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.”
The Russian President Vladimir Putin has allowed Turkey to evacuate people by the ships on April 3, but just foreigners.
Losses of civilians in different regions and settlements of Ukraine:
Kyiv region: approximately 291 people were killed, 3 people were injured, including 2 children.
Motyzhin (Kyiv region) – the Russian military brutally killed 7 civilians, among them the head of the village Olha Sukhenko, her husband and son. They were kidnapped by the Russian military on March 23.
Bucha (Kyiv region) – after liberation of Bucha by the Ukrainian army it becomes known the facts of cruelty of the Russian invaders, “kadyrivtsiv” and the Belorussian military in the town, which was being occupied more than one month. It has become known about a brutally torturing a man in front of his wife. After a man was killed. A woman has survived. As of April 2 after Bucha’s liberation from the Russian occupiers 280 local residents were buried in a mass grave. The corpses lay under the sky at the city’s streets, and mostly the Russian military shot people in the back of the head.
Guta Mezhyhirska (Kyiv region) – a murdered famous Ukrainian documentary filmmaker and photographer Max Levin was found. The Russian military shot him dead.
Kukhary (Kyiv region) – The Russian military fired on a car in which a pediatric anesthesiologist was taking a wounded child to the hospital. The doctor died.
The corpses of 5 women were found at the highway in Kyiv region, the Russian military were trying to burn them.
Demydiv (Kyiv region) – it became known that the Russian military fired on a civilian car in which 6 civilians were trying to flee the war zone. Three people were killed and two were injured, including one child.
Dnipropetrovsk region: 3 civilians were injured.
Dnipro – 2 civilians were wounded in a rocket attack of the city on the night of April 2.
Pavlohrad district – one person was injured in a rocket attack.
Donetsk region: 9 died, including 1 child; 11 civilians were injured, including 1 child.
Mariupol – 1 child was killed and 1 child was injured.
Maryinka – 4 people were killed and 2 civilians were injured.
Vuhledar – 2 civilians were killed and 3 civilians were injured.
Novoselivka – 1 person died
Krasnohorivka – 1 civilian was wounded
Bakhmut – 1 person was killed and 3 were injured.
Otradne – 1 person was injured.
Zaporizhzhia region: 8 people were injured.
Energodar – 4 civilians were injured by the bombardment of civilian infrastructure. Local residents took part in a peaceful rally, the Russian military opened fire on them, as a result of which 4 people were wounded.
Luhansk region: 4 civilians were killed, 7 were injured, including 2 children. (information is being claryfied).
Rubizhne (Luhansk region) – 1 person was injured.
Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) – 2 people were killed and 2 were injured.
Lysychansk (Luhansk region) – 2 people died, 2 children were seriously injured.
In Luhansk region, 2 people were also injured and taken to a hospital in Bakhmut (Donetsk region).
Mykolaiv region: 17 civilians were killed and 14 were injured.
Mykolaiv – on March 29 the Russian army carried out an air strike on the building of the regional public administration of the Mykolaiv region. The building was destroyed. The number of died people has increased from 21 to 38.
Poltava region: the information is being clarified.
Kremenchuk – several people were injured due to the rocket strike of an oil refinery by the Russian troops. The information is being clarified.
Sumy region: 4 people were killed and 7 were injured.
Konotop (Sumy region) – the Russian military shot down civilian cars. As a result, 1 person was killed and 2 were injured.
Trostyanets (Sumy region) – 2 dead civilians were found, who were tortured to death by the Russian military during the occupation.
Buryn (Sumy region) – 3 people were wounded in the artillery shelling. The Russian military fired a civilian car and wounded two civilians.
Dubovyazivka (Sumy region) – one person was killed by the Russian military.
Kharkiv region: 41 people were killed and 3 were injured.
Kharkiv – the Russian soldier was raping a woman (29 years old) during a week and then killed her mother in front of her. The mother was seriously ill and could not walk. A student of Kharkiv University died in the shelling of the Kharkiv region public building on March 1, and his body was found on April 1 under the rubble of the building. It is currently known that 29 civilians were killed in airstrikes on the Kharkiv Kharkiv region public building. One person was wounded in the shelling, bombardment and tanks’ fire in the center of Kharkiv.
Lozova – 4 people died in the shelling.
It became known that on February 26 at the Izyum-Kharkiv highway the Russian military fired at the local bus with civilians – 8 people, together with a driver were killed. 3 civilians were injured.
Kharkiv region – 3 people died during a day.
Kherson region: 1 person died.
Kalinovske (Kherson region) – 1 person died in the artillery shelling.
Stanislav community (Kherson region) – information is being clarified.
Chernihiv region: 3 people were killed and 3 were injured.
Chernihiv – the Russian troops fired on a cancer hospital, as a result of which 3 people were wounded.
Chernihiv region – it became known that the Russian troops killed 3 boys (17, 17 and 18 years old) in the occupied village by them.
