Losses among the civilian population in Ukraine as of 8:00 on March 28

As of 8:00 a.m. on March 28, 2022, during the past 24 hours, 35 civilians had been killed due to Russian invasion, including 5 children (excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions). 53 people were injured, including 7 children. 8 civilians were captured, and a total more than 60 civilians were kidnapped or were taken prisoner by the Russian troops, they are mostly local government officials of the occupied settlements and the Ukrainian activists as well.

Children:

As of March 28, due to Russia’s full-scale invasion against the population of Ukraine, 139 children were killed and 205 were wounded, according to the data of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Civilians were captured and taken prisoner by Russian troops in the occupied settlements:

 1. In Snovsk (Chernihiv region) 5 residents were abducted. Earlier, the Russian military kidnapped the mayor and well-known businessman.

2. Two persons have gone missing in Melitopol (Zaporizhzhya region) – Bogdan Khonichev and Andriy Porkhunov, who were traveling from Zaporizhia to Mariupol to evacuate people.

3. Russian soldiers kidnapped a local resident – Dvorny In Goly Prystan (Kherson region).

SAVE Mariupol:

One more foreigner, Hassan Khamed is the Egyptian citizen, was killed due to shelling of Mariupol. The city remains under complete blockade by the Russian troops.

More than 490,000 Ukrainian citizens were illegally deported from Ukraine. Their fate is currently unknown.

Deportation of the Ukrainian citizens to the Russian Federation and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As of March 27, 2022, approximately 493,000 Ukrainian citizens were illegally deported by the Russian troops to Russia and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Such number is based on official information of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Among the deported Ukrainian citizens are about 91,000 children. A large part of the children were taken away without their parents and parental permission.

Losses of civilians in different regions and settlements of Ukraine:

Kyiv region: 7 people were killed, 12 were injured, including 1 child.

Slavutych (Kyiv region) – 3 civilians were killed during a peaceful rally against the Russian military occupation of the town.

Irpin (Kyiv region) – The Russian military killed 2 civilians – the director of a kindergarten and her husband. It also became known that on March 7, the Chechens’ soldiers killed two people – a young father and mother in front of their own child. People were going by private car trying to leave the combat zone. Video is from the drone of the German journalists of the ZDF channel.

Fastiv district (Kyiv region) – the Russian military shelled residential buildings by a heavy artillery. 12 civilians were injured, including one child.

Donetsk region: 6 people were killed, including 1 child. Wounded – 10.

Mariupol – Egyptian citizen Yehia Hassan Khamed was killed by the shelling. Two civilians were killed and six wounded as well. (information incomplete)

Velyka Novosilka – 1 child was killed.

Mariynka – The Russian military killed two elderly people who were trying to leave the war zone in their own car.

Krasnohorivka – 4 civilians were wounded due to shelling.

Zaporizhzhia region: 7 people were killed, 7 were injured, including 2 children.

Gulyaypole (Zaporizhzhya region) – 5 civilians, including 2 children, were wounded due to shelling of a residential neighborhood by the Russian troops.

Polohy (Zaporizhzhya region) – rescuers found 7 dead locals under the rubble.

Veselyanka (Zaporizhzhya region) – 2 elderly people were injured as a result of artillery shelling of residential houses.

Luhansk region: 2 people were killed, including 1 child. 3 were injured, including 1 child.

Rubizhne (Luhansk region) – 1 civilian was killed and 1 was injured as a result of shelling.

Borivsk (Luhansk region) – 1 child died due to shelling by the Russian troops. Two civilians were injured, including one child.

Mykolaiv region: 3 people were killed, 14 were injured, including 1 child.

Yavkino (Mykolaiv region) – due to shelling by multiple launch rocket system “Tornado” 3 people were killed and 13 were injured. People were in the center of the city at the time of the shelling, receiving humanitarian aid. 22 shells fell on the playground.

Snihirevka – 1 child was injured.

Sumy region: 1 person was killed. 4 were injured, including 1 child.

Maly Vystorop (Sumy region) – due to shelling by the Russian military multiple launch rocket system “Hail” of the residential neighborhood of the town 1 person was killed and 1 was injured.

Trostyanets (Sumy region) – 3 people were wounded by artillery shelling, including 1 child (9 years old).

Kharkiv region: 11 people were killed, including 3 children. Injured – 5, including 1 child.

Izyum district – the Russian military shot dead 3 people – a family, including a child who was 3 years old. The family was going in their car. 3 people were killed, including a teenager (16 years old). 4 local residents were injured.

Barvynkove – 1 person was killed.

Oskil (Izium district, Kharkiv region) – 4 people were killed due to shelling, including 1 child (7 years old). 1 child (4 years old) was injured.
