SAVE MARIUPOL

On April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the blocking of all civilians on the territory of the Azovstal plant together with the Ukrainian military, “so that not even a fly would fly.” This means that in fact, about 1,000 Mariupol residents, mostly women and children, as well as about 400 wounded, including civilians, will starve to death. The Ukrainian military still controls part of Mariupol, including the Azovstal plant. In addition to Ukrainian soldiers, there are about 1,000 civilians at the territory of the plant, mostly women and children. They have been hiding from bombings and shelling by the Russian troops in the plant’s bomb shelters for more than 1.5 months. Also, there are about 400 wounded, both military and civilian.

The Russian army cannot finally capture the part of the city controlled by the Ukrainian troops. Thus, on April 21, the President of the Russian Federation ordered the Minister of Defense Shoihu to tightly surround the Ukrainian military and civilians and completely cut them off from the outside world, leaving them to die of thirst, starvation and injury. The Ukrainian authorities are trying to evacuate civilians from the plant, but the Russian side has twice disrupted the agreed humanitarian corridors during the last two days.

On April 21, the Ukrainian authorities managed to evacuate 79 people from other districts of Mariupol. All of them are in a difficult situation and tell about the terrible things of a long-suffering city, from which there is practically nothing left.
