Losses among the civilian population in Ukraine as of 8:00 on May 12

As of 8:00 a.m. on May 12, 2022, during on May 9,10,11, 76 civilians had been killed due to the Russian invasion, among them 1 child (excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Kyiv, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia regions). 92 people were wounded, including 1 infant.  2 civilians were captured. Totally more than 400 civilians were abducted by the Russian troops, they are mostly journalists, local government officials of the occupied settlements, the Ukrainian activists, teachers, as well as children and relatives of local authorities’ representatives.

New cases of the Russian military’s atrocities and war crimes have become known, which were committed during the Russian occupation of the Kyiv region. It has became known that the Russian occupiers simultaneously raped a pregnant 16-year-old girl and her grandmother. The girl lost a child as a result of the rape. Children and men were also raped. Many of the victims died from the brutal abuse of the Russian military.

Children:

As of May 11, due to the Russian full-scale invasion against the population of Ukraine, 226 children were killed and 417 were wounded, according to the data of the Office of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine.  

Two civilians were captured by the Russian troops in the occupied settlements:

  1. In Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region) – the Russian military abducted Iryna petrova – a football referee. The woman was kidnapped on May 9 near her house. Earlier the referee refused refereeing a match established by the occupiers. Iryna Petrova took active part in peaceful rallies for Ukraine.
  2. In Kherson – the Russian military abducted Vitaliy Klymenko – a local resident, a dancer. Currently his fate is unknown.

Losses of civilians in different regions and settlements of Ukraine:

Donetsk region: 18 people were killed. 20 civilians were injured.

Bakhmut (Donetsk region) – On May 10, 1 civilian was wounded in a Russian shelling.

Yampil (Donetsk region) – On May 9, the number of victims from April 23 to 28 was specified. As a result of a Russian shelling, 11 civilians were killed.

Novomykhailivka (Donetsk region) – On May 9, 1 local resident was injured.

New York (Donetsk region) – 1 civilian was injured on May 9. On May 11, 1 person was injured.

Adamivka (Donetsk region) – 1 person was injured on May 9.

Drobysheve (Donetsk region) – 3 people were injured on May 9.

Kostiantynivka (Donetsk region) – On May 10, the information on the number of victims of the Russian shelling was clarified: 4 civilians were killed and 8 were injured.

Mariinka, Donetsk region) – 1 person died on May 10.

Avdiivka (Donetsk region) – On May 10, one person was killed during the Russian shelling.

Kalynove (Donetsk region) – On May 10, one civilian was injured.

Zalizne (Donetsk region) – 1 person was killed and 1 was injured on May 10.

Kostiantynivka village (Donetsk region) – 1 civilian was wounded on May 10.

Novoselivka (Donetsk region) – On May 11, one civilian was injured.

Zaporizhzhia region: 3 civilians were killed. 12 people were injured.

Orikhovo (Zaporizhzhya region) – On May 10, 1 person was killed and 8 were injured in the Russian shelling.

Polohy (Zaporizhzhya region) – On May 9, the Russian military fired artillery at a civilian car, killing one person and injuring one.

Komyshuvakha (Zaporizhzhya region) – On May 11, 1 person was killed and 3 civilians were injured in a rocket attack. 60 residential buildings were destroyed.

Luhansk region: according to preliminary information, 2 civilians were killed. Wounded – 2. There is no complete information due to active hostilities.

Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) – 1 person was injured on May 9.

Luhansk region – On May 11, 1 registered person was injured and in Bakhmut (Donetsk region).

Borivske (Luhansk region) – 2 rescuers were killed for May. They helped local residents: demining, rescuing people under the rubble of destroyed houses.

Mykolaiv region: The Russian military continues to fire on settlements of the Mykolaiv region, as a result of attacks on May 9 10 civilians were wounded. On May 10, 15 civilians were injured. On May 11, 9 people were injured.

Odesa region: 1 person was killed and 5 were injured.

Odesa – On May 9, the Russian army again fired rockets at residential neighborhoods and a shopping center. As a result of the shelling, 5 people were injured and 1 person was killed.

Kharkiv region: 52 people died, including 1 child. Injured – 19, including an infant.

Kharkiv – On May 10, two civilians were wounded in Russian shelling.

Izyum (Kharkiv region) – 44 dead civilians were found under the rubble of a high-rise building.

Vovchansk (Kharkiv Oblast) – On May 10, it became known that the Russian military had shot dead a convoy of civilian cars in which people were trying to leave the occupied city. The shelling killed four people, including a 13-year-girl. An infant was injured (6-month-old).

Kharkiv district (Kharkiv region) – 4 civilians were injured on May 9. On May 10, 6 people were injured in Russian shelling.

Zirkuni (Kharkiv region) – 1 person was killed on May 9.

Lozovsky district (Kharkiv region) – On May 10, 1 person was injured.

Izyum district (Kharkiv region) – On May 10, 1 person was injured.

Kupyansk district (Kharkiv region) – 1 person died on May 10.

Novy Merchyk (Kharkiv region) – On May 11, 1 person was injured.

Bohodukhiv (Kharkiv region) – On May 9, 2 civilians were killed and 3 were injured.

Kherson region: There is no information, most part of the region is occupied by the Russian forces.
