Losses among the civilian population in Ukraine as of 8:00 on April 8

Kyiv region – Bucha, Hostomel, Motyzhyn – the Russian military killed about 400 civilians during the occupation time. In Bucha, 163 victims have been identified – almost all of them were shot dead in the head.

Kyiv region – Borodyanka – about 200 people are missing. The town had most sufferings in the shelling and destruction. The Russian army shelled town MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Blast), multiple launch rocket systems “Tornado” and “Hurricane”.

TERROR in the occupied territories are lasting. In Kherson, the Russian military abducted more than 100 civilians. More and more facts about the brutal cases of torture of activists, journalists, local government officials, and teachers who do not want to cooperate with the occupiers are becoming known. According to local residents, a torture prison like the “Isolation” prison in Donetsk, which Russia occupied in 2014, has been set up in Kherson.

As of 8:00 a.m. on April 8, 2022, during the last 24 hours, 254 civilians had been killed due to the Russian invasion, including 163 killed persons who have been identified in Bucha, among them 5 children (excluding all victims in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions). 32 people were injured. 3 civilians were captured, and totally more than 100 civilians were kidnapped by the Russian troops, they are mostly journalists, local government officials of the occupied settlements and the Ukrainian activists, teachers as well. Just in the Kherson region, about 100 civilians have disappeared, and the Russian military is abducting people according to a prepared list of veterans, activists, journalists, and local officials.

Children:

As of April 7, due to the Russian full-scale invasion against the population of Ukraine, 167 children were killed and 297 were wounded, according to the data of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.   

Three civilians were captured by the Russian troops in the occupied settlements:

 1. In Mykhaylivka (Zaporizhzhia region) the Russian military kidnapped Viktor Dudka – a member of the regional council and Volodymyr Rykun – a head of the Mykhaylivka territorial community.

2. In Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia region) – according to Mayor of the town the Russian military kidnapped more than 100 residents who don’t want interacting with the occupiers. There are many teachers among them.

3. In Novooleksiivka (Kherson region) – the Russian military captured Venera Yeremenko – the mother of 6 children.

Losses of civilians in different regions and settlements of Ukraine:

Kyiv region: 64 people died, including 2 children; 163 victims have been identified in Bucha, the information is being clarified.

Vorzel (Kyiv region) – the Russian military killed and burned 1 person – a famous homeopath of Ukraine (53 years old).

Irpin (Kyiv region) – the Russian military killed a famous Ukrainian homeopath (92 years old).

Bucha (Kyiv region) – Russian occupiers shot dead a civilian car, killing 3 people – a pregnant woman (mother) and 2 children. 28 more people were found dead on the streets of the city, as well as 5 tortured and killed people in the children’s camp “Prolisok”. Totally 163 victims have been identified.

Borodyanka (Kyiv region) – the bodies of 26 civilians were found under the rubbles of the destroyed residential houses. Borodyanka was bombarded MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Blast), multiple launch rocket systems “Tornado” and “Hurricane”.

Dnipropetrovsk region: 1 person was injured.

Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) – 1 person was injured in the shelling.

Donetsk region: 1 person was killed, 3 were injured.

Marinka – 1 civilian was injured.

Mariupol – 1 person died.

Slovyansk – 1 person was injured.

Carbon – 1 person was injured.

Luhansk region: 1 person was killed and 6 civilians were injured.

Severodonetsk (Luhansk region) – 5 civilians were injured, they were receiving the humanitarian aid.

Rubizhne (Luhansk region) – 1 person was killed and 1 was injured.

Mykolayv region: 1 person was killed.

Lotskine (Mykolaiv region) – the Russian military tortured and then killed the Ukrainian activist.

Sumy region: 2 people died.

Trostyanets (Sumy region) – it has become known that during the Russian occupation 1 person was killed in his own car.

Boromlya (Sumy region) – it was found one more civilian who was tortured by the Russian military.

Kharkiv region: 5 people died, 15 were injured.

Kharkiv – 1 person was killed and 14 were injured in the artillery and missile attacks on the residential neighborhood.

Izyum district (Kharkiv region) – the Russian military brutally tortured 3 local residents, and then burned them. This fact has become known after the liberation of the village by the Ukrainian military.

Kreminna – one person was killed in the air missile attack on the residential buildings.

Rubizhne (Kharkiv region) – 1 rescuer was injured.

Kherson region: 5 people died, including 1 child. Wounded – 7.

The Russian military carried out multiple launch systems strikes “Hurricane” on a boat with people trying to escape from the occupied territory of the Kherson region to the Dnipropetrovsk region controlled by Ukraine. The shelling killed 4 people, including 1 child. 7 civilians were injured and 2 were missing.

Novooleksiyivka (Kherson region) – the Russian military killed 1 civilian. Crimean Tatars live compactly in the settlement.

Chernihiv region: 13 people died, including 2 children.

Lukashivka (Chernihiv region) – during the occupation of the village by the Russian military, 12 residents were killed, including at least 2 children.

Hryhorivka (Chernihiv region) – a local farmer was killed during the Russian military occupation of the village.
